How to Be a Branding Hero

Marketing your business is daunting. There’s a lot to understand — target markets, copywriting, calls to action, branding and design.

But you can do it, you know. I believe it, and I know you believe it, too, or you wouldn’t be reading this blog.

I know what you’re capable of

You’re the do-it-yourself type, and that’s my favorite kind of business owner. That’s who I am, too: I like to know how things work, and see my knowledge transform my business.

It’s great to feel like you can control the direction your business takes. And it’s ultra-satisfying to see the passion you feel for your business transformed into customers and sales.

Overwhelmed by marketing?

You get up, look at the day’s tasks and start to tackle them. Have you fit marketing onto your to-do list? Is it hard to know where to start building that big brand you want?

Your marketing efforts can seem pointless and scattered if you don’t have a plan. The good news is that creating a plan isn’t hard, and having one will get you measurable results.

Designed to impress

We are sitting in front of powerful design tools, whether we own design software or not. Even the most basic word processing software allows you to create white space, choose fonts and size them to work.

When you know how to make good design choices, everything you create looks more professional. Get a good handle on design, and you won’t look like an amateur any more. Your brand will look big, even if your business is small.

The beauty of DIY

When you create your marketing materials yourself, you can be agile and responsive to what’s happening in your market and your business. You don’t have to pay expensive agencies or wait for them to get around to working on your project: you just do it, and it’s done. You have complete control, and you get fast response time by someone who’s 100% committed to the outcome — you.

When you understand how it works, instead of feeling “marketing dread,” you’ll have a plan that’s customized for your business and your available time. You’ll enjoy hand crafting your plan and your materials so they reflect your vision and your passion.

Guidance for your marketing journey

Whether you’re just starting to manage your business marketing, or you’ve been doing it for a while, my new products can help.

They’re not for everyone, though. If you’d rather hire an agency to take care of your marketing so you don’t have to think about it, these products aren’t for you.

They’re designed for people who want to read, think and brainstorm solutions that work for their own businesses. People who want a plan they can refer to, and some guidance about how to make it all work.

And they’ll be for sale soon: this is the last week for the early bird list. If you haven’t signed up to save some money yet, add your name below while you still can.

  1. Here, this is Eddie Gear from TheAppTimes. I’m intentionally leaving this comment from my new personal branding blog just because it goes with this article.

I believe in Personal Branding. This is something that is going to get you Brand Recognition specially if you are running a business as a blogger.

At the end of the Day its 70% Marketing and 30% Sales that determines your businesses success.

Love your article once again Pamela.

  2. Pamela, I’m telling all my photography peeps about your new products, as so many of them have the need for marketing and design for their small businesses, and they are big DIYers.

This is going to be great!

    • Thanks for the support, Marlene. You’re a student of the Big Brand System course, so you have a good idea of the kind of information that will be in these products. I can’t wait to share them: I’m just putting finishing touches on them now.

  3. Pamela,

Once again you’re “spot on”. I totally needed that motivation to design my blog instead of hiring an expensive agency. You provided all the neccessary tools I needed: motivation, inspiration, and information.

    Good stuff!

  4. All branding is about being personal. There has to be a relationship component to branding.

That is building relationships with potential clients.

  5. Hi Pamela!

Thanks for your support of the “little guy”. Its wonderful to be given the tools to be able to squeeze into your own little space in the marketing arena with all the big contenders when you have the right tools and information.
